About The Book

Real Stories About What Money Is Really For

Most people approach money backwards. They obsess over budgets, investment strategy, and the pursuit of “more”, without ever asking what it’s actually for. Even More Than Money shares 20 stories based on real people, told by the financial advisors who lived them alongside their clients, built around five frameworks for a richer kind of planning: Living, Changing, Dreaming, Giving, and Enduring. The stories in the book are provided for educational and illustrative purposes only. They should not be interpreted as representative of any particular client experience or as a guarantee of future results.

Why My Chapter Opens the Book

My chapter is the first story in Even More Than Money and opens the book’s first section, “Money Is for Living.”

That placement matters because the story introduces one of the book’s central ideas: money is most meaningful when it supports the life you actually want to live.

The chapter follows a real client through a major life transition and reflects something I believe deeply: financial planning should begin with your life, not just your accounts.

That belief is personal to me. I built Apprise Wealth Management to support women navigating major financial transitions, and part of what shaped that mission was watching my mother face financial hardship during a difficult chapter of her life.

My chapter is based on a real client story. The client consented to the story being shared, and identifying details have been changed or omitted to protect privacy. The story is provided for educational and illustrative purposes only. It should not be interpreted as representative of every client experience or as a guarantee of any particular outcome.
